The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Home Marble Run Instructions

What Does F.A.I.T.H. Stand For?

F is for Forgiveness.  We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness.

A is for Available.  Forgiveness is available for all, but it is not automatic.

I is for Impossible.  It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven.  It is also impossible to please God through our own actions.

T is for Turn.  Turn means to repent from sin and self to Christ only.

H is for Heaven.  Heaven is eternal life, here and now and in the hereafter - but only through Christ.  Forsaking all, I trust Him!

Marble Run Guidelines

F.A.I.T.H. Riders does not endorse or participate in Poker Runs. One of our Chapters, Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee Oklahoma, passed on a very good alternative to Poker Runs called a Marble Run. Not only does it give us a great way to mix motorcycles with fundraising, but it also gives us another way to clearly present The Gospel. The instructions presented here are by no means all inclusive and are meant to be a guide to help you organize your Marble Run to be an effective tool for your ministry.

Items needed:

  • 6 pre-determined locations for stops

  • 6 large black felt bags

  • 1 small bag for each rider

  • 1 Black, Red, White, Blue, Green, and Yellow marbles for each rider. Example; if you have 100 riders you will need 100 of each color marble

  • Each location will have a large bag with all 6 color marbles. You might have a few extra marbles of each color on hand at these locations in case a rider rides off with yours

  • Water and restrooms at each stop

You will need a registration and ending location. The registration process includes the following:

  • Each Rider and Passenger fill out separate registration cards and Release from Liability form (can be same form)

  • Pre-number the registration cards and write the corresponding number on a marble card so the two cards can be matched at the end of the event.

  • Each rider and passenger will receive a Marble Card and Marble bag and will be told what to do when they reach the 1st location

  • Each rider and passenger will receive instructions as to what time to be back and what to do when they return

  • Give each rider a phone number for emergencies. If for some reason they are unable to make it back by the designated time, call the emergency number

  • Each rider will receive directions to the 1st location

  • At the 1st location they will receive directions to the 2nd location; at the 2nd location receive directions to the 3rd and so forth (this is optional, you can give all the directions at the time of registration if you prefer

  • Each color marble will be given a pre-determined point value known only by those responsible for tallying the results

  • Riders must return and remain at the designated ending location in order to find out the point value they accumulated and if they have won anything

  • Bikes can leave the registration location in groups or singles depending on your preference

  • Registration should begin at a specified time and have a "last bike out" time

  • There will be food at the ending location when they return (optional)

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

  • Each stop location is designated as a specific color. Example; the first stop can be blue, the second red, third yellow, etc...

  • Upon arrival at each stop location, each rider and passenger that registered (those who have a marble card and bag) will draw a marble from a large bag containing all six color marbles

  • The color that is drawn will be recorded on the Marble Card and initialed by the attendant at that location

  • The attendant will then return the Marble Card to the rider or passenger, along with one marble of the designated color for that stop and also give them directions to the next location

  • When that group of 5 riders and passengers have all finished at that location they will continue as a group to the next location (if groups are the method you have chosen)

  • When each rider returns to the ending location they should have a small bag with six marbles, one of each color, verifying their stop at each location. Their marble card should have all 6 blanks filled in and initialed

  • Riders will turn in their marble cards to the appropriate person at the ending location

  • The point value accumulated on each card will be totaled

  • Once all the cards are totaled and it is determined who had the most points, second most points and least number of points, everyone will be gathered around to hear the results

  • In the event of a tie each party will draw marbles to break the tie

  • An explanation to the riders and passengers will be given detailing how many points each color marble was worth and an explanation of what that color marble represents resulting in The Gospel Presentation being delivered

  • An opportunity to respond to The Gospel will be given

  • Prizes for 1st, 2nd and last place will be given out. Cash prizes are discouraged! This is a benefit fundraiser and the purpose of the prizes is to have people stay and hear The Gospel!

The fee for Riders and Passengers is optional depending on the purpose of the event. Typically this fee will probably be about $15.00 for Riders and $10.00 for Passengers. If you have any questions please feel free to contact either the National Office or another chapter who has experience with a Marble Run.
